The language of flowers, or floriography, offers a rich source of inspiration for my work, as it allows me to explore the cultural significance of flowers in Victorian times and how they can be used to convey meaning in a subtle and expressive way.
I’m a hand builder of clay. I wanted to make mugs so I collaborated with another clay artist, one who makes really nicely shaped mugs that i could decorate.
I have a soft spot for cows. Maybe it’s an ancestral thing – my maternal great-grandfather was a dairy farmer in Iowa 100 years ago. I never met him, but the love for cows lives on in me.
