Flower Box Platter

Inspired by the flower box of flowers growing outside my window, I created this platter to evoke the joy it gives me. Much time was spent on the design, picking of colors, and applying layers of underglazes and slip onto newsprint before transferring onto a slab of terracotta clay. It was then formed in a plaster mold I created, one that has a very organic look.  Each platter is food safe and is unique. Perfect to sit alone or to hold a variety of things. It can also be displayed vertically by using a wall mount.
