I made an earlier version of this image in its original full color. When looking through my image catalog for potential black and white prints, I noticed this image and immediately realized, it will make an even better black and white print. It’s a dramatic shot before the storm and the contrast of the darker shades against the few areas of embellished highlight emphasizes the effect. I generally include my unedited versions; the difference is striking.
