Ceramic Whiskey Cups and Tray Set - Grain Designs

Ceramic Whiskey Cups and Tray Set - Grain Designs

This whiskey set tells a story about the origins of whiskey. It starts with the grains.

Each cup in the set represents the possible grains used - wheat, barley, or rye. On the floor of the tray you will see the ‘dropped’ individual grains; on the side the stalks of the grain heads waving in the fields. Various grains are used in the making of different varieties of whiskey.

The set consists of 4 whiskey cups (each is individually made and no two are exactly alike) and 1 serving tray. Each piece is handmade from slabs of red clay. The process of creation includes carving, etching the designs, stamping, dipping, and glazing. Final firing is set to cone 6.

The glazes are lead-free and food safe. Though dishwasher safe, I recommended that you wash the pieces by hand after use.
