At my studio in SW Beaverton. Address will be mailed upon registration.
What this workshop entails:
This is a 2-part class to make 4 decorative small dishes using the technique of mono-printing. Everyone will either create their own design on newsprint or copy a design from a template. Then, transfer the design onto a slab of terracotta clay before molding it into a small dish using a precut form.
The mono-print transfer technique is a fun way to decorate a ceramic surface – each one is unique! Open to all levels, this class is sure to get you fired up on creating fun surface designs for future work, or to make a handmade gift for friends or family. Enrollment is limited.
A brief overview about mono-printing and process. Creating design, choosing colors, and layering underglazes. Transfer design onto clay slab, cut template shape from transferred design, make 4 dish forms.
Finish decorating the bisque-ware by adding more underglazes or underglaze pencil marks. Apply glaze to surface.
The class includes:
Red Art Terracotta clay
Amaco Velvet Underglazes
Use of studio tools, brushes, and forms
2 firings: bisque and glaze
$130 (includes all materials and two firings.)
Finished pieces will be available for pick-up at a later date, or shipped at an additional cost.
