Studio #27: Charissa Brock

I work with bamboo and glass to create sculptural objects

Media: Bamboo and glass

Artist’s Statement: I have been working with bamboo since 1999. My work method stems from an interest in the complex structure of bamboo and its unlimited potential as a sustainable art material. I work narratively, creating a story within a piece, and formally, examining complexity of form and how to push the boundaries within my material. My artwork is in the Arizona State University Museum, Rivermark Hotel, Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection, Oregon State Treasury, and the Hyatt Regency Maui.

My botanical jewelry is a reflection of my deep connection to the natural world and my love for capturing the intricate details of plants and flowers. Each piece is carefully crafted to combine the beauty of nature with the elegance of silver. I hope my jewelry evokes a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world in those who wear it.

Ceramic artist creating colorful pieces for your home and life

Media: Clay
Artist’s Statement: I have been a creator all of my life, and clay was my first love. Majoring in sculpture in college, I later built a career as a video journalist and filmmaker before returning to clay full-time. Focusing on hand-building, I draw inspiration from my surroundings and human nature, looking for the magic in the everyday and bringing it to life with expression, color and surface illustration in my figurative and functional ceramics.

Studio #30: Rosalind Cooper

Fused glass artist including bowls, vases and landscapes.

Media: fused glass and torchwork
Artist’s Statement: The Pacific NW has always been my home and my artistic inspiration comes from observing the colors of nature and pursuing the elusive vibrant sky. I first became captivated with glass at the age of 17 when I viewed the stained glass windows at the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. My glass journey began when I took my first stained glass class in 1990. Since 2004 I have worked with several inspiring artisans in fused glass and torch work. I love the transformation that takes place from setting a cold piece of glass in the kiln and with heat forming an artistic creation. I consider my glassmaking an ongoing aspiration, discovering new techniques to learn and explore.

Studio #31: Linda Gerrard

I make fused glass landscape art from my home studio.

Media: Fused Glass
Artist’s Statement: I design and make all of my kiln formed glass pieces in my home studio using large sheets of hand cut glass as well as crushed glass frit. My ideas come from the beauty of nature that surrounds us, my husband’s photography, and our travels. You’ll see a variety of landscapes to hang on your wall or display in stands. Depending on the desired effect, I layer & arrange the glass & use multiple firings to create depth. Controlling temperature & kiln time allows pieces to be smooth and have soft, or strong, texture. To keep my designs current and interesting, I am constantly learning & challenging myself to try new techniques. Each piece take from 5 days to weeks to make. Delighting my customer with beautiful art is so gratifying.
