Description
A colorful abstract design on a ceramic planter to complement your small houseplant, succulent or herb. The clay planter is unique, created from a technique I developed. After applying an abstract design using under-glazes onto newsprint, I transfer this onto a slab of clay. I then apply textures, more under-glaze, before rolling and stretching the design into new directions. I cut shapes from this ‘painted’ clay and adhere them to another slab, thus creating a ceramic collage. The slab is then formed into a vase.
This is hand built from a low-fire red clay, glazed, cut, reassembled, etched, and fired twice.
All my ceramic products are handmade in small batches, often sold as one-of-a-kind pieces.
