Harvest Platter

This large platter is made from terracotta clay and decorated with a technique called mono-printing. A design is applied to newsprint using various underglaze colors, then transferred onto a slab of clay. This slab is then placed in a slump mold and takes several weeks to dry. During this process the platter is trimmed, etched, any other adornments are added, and a foot is attached. Each platter I make is unique. The platter is food safe (as are all my ceramics unless otherwise indicated) and has several holes on the backside in order to (also) be displayed on a wall in your home, if desired.
