Ceramic Friendship Bowl
This friendship bowl celebrates the connections between old friends. Inspired by the language of flowers, women used flowers during the Victorian era as a way to secretly convey their feelings to other women. The combination of flowers and plants— like words in a sentence— have different meanings depending upon the context in which they are used.
Here are some of those their individual meanings:
- Zinnia: everlasting friendship
- Pansy: a friend you think of often
- Pear Blossom: longevity
- Celadine: joys to come
- Ivy: endurance
- Forget-me-nots: not forgotten
Hand built from a low-fire red clay, etched, and painted with underglazes, all my ceramic products are handmade in small batches, often sold as one-of-a-kind pieces.
