Hometown Ceramic Mugs

The design on this ceramic mug reminds me of my hometown with a variety of houses, apartment buildings, shops, street lamps and the formidable water tower.  Maybe this will evoke memories for you. Enjoy your favorite beverage— hot or cold— in this 11 ounce hand-decorated mug.

This is a collaborative piece: the ceramic mugs were thrown by Thomas Graeper using a mid-range clay body.  I then decorated the surface by painting a unique design onto newsprint using underglazes – each color contains 3 separate coats – before pressing it onto the terracotta mugs. They are made from a mid-range stoneware clay, mono-printed, etched, and fired twice.

All my ceramic products are handmade in small batches, often sold as one-of-a-kind pieces, and may be perfectly imperfect.
